American Cultures Class Page
Welcome to the American Cultures 2 page! This is a graduation required freshman class, which continues the chronological story of the United States that students began the previous year. Students will first review the creation of American Government and the makeup of the Constitution. Conflict and compromise will also be discussed and related to the causes of the American Civil War. An intense study of the Civil War will be a major component of the course. Students will then analyze the events following the Civil War and their impact on our culture today. The class will then study the turn of the century and the dramatic change that took place in the 1900's. Students will gain an understanding of global relations and the role played by the United States in international decision making. The First World War and it's effects will add an appropriate closure to the school year. Students can then prepare for American Cultures 3, which further continues the story of the United States.
